Mirza Purić, born in 1979 in Bihać, studied English at the University of Vienna. His first translation was published in 2004 and since that time, he has translated novels, stories, essays and poems by George Orwell, Aleksandar Hemon, Chris Abani, Rabih Alameddine, Nathan Englander, Iain Crichton Smith, Joan Lingard, Khaled Hosseini, Yasuhiro Yotsumoto, Gordon Legge, Alan Warner, Agnes Owens, Bill Douglas, Nihad Hasanović, Michael Köhlmeier and many more. He lives in Sarajevo and plays baritone guitar in a noise rock duo.
