Matthias Jacob
Matthias Jacob is a lecturer of Literature, translator and journalist. He studied Eastern and Southern Slavic Philology, Modern German Literature and Art History in Tübingen and Moscow and, in the 80’s, made many study trips to Bosnia and Herzegovina. From 1999 to 2004 he was a research associate at the Department of Slavic Philology (Literature) at the Slavic Seminar of the University of Tübingen. He was also a teacher of Russian Literature in Adult Education. Nowadays, he lives in Herrenberg between Stuttgart and Tübingen with his wife and his daughter and holds lectures at the literary pro-seminars at the University of Tübingen, predominantly on Southern Slavonic Literatures. In addition to that he writes reviews, amongst others, for the magazine “Buchmarkt” [Book Market] and translates literary and scientific texts from Croatian, Serbian, Bosnian and Russian. Since 2005, Matthias Jacob has been on the road in Istria, Dalmatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro as a tour guide for the art and cultural tours of “Biblische Reisen/Stuttgart” [Biblical Tours/Stuttgart].
