Matthias Göritz, born in Hamburg in 1969, is a poet, translator and novelist. After studying philosophy and literature, he lived for several years abroad, in Moscow, Paris, Chicago and New York. In 2001, he published his first volume of poetry, titled Loops. In the years since then he has been the recipient of numerous scholarships and prizes.
