Marsela Likaj

Marsela Likaj studied German language and literature and received her PhD (2016) in German literature from the University of Tirana, where she currently teaches as a university professor. She is particularly committed to German-language literature and has translated texts by numerous contemporary authors from German, as well as Kafka’s ‘Letters to Milena’, ‘Notes on Adenauer’ (Hans-Peter Schwarz), ABC of Journalism (Claudia Mast), the play “Die Sternstunde des Josef Bieder”, etc. She was a participant of the “Tirana International Literature Festival” in 2015 and 2017, as well as the ‘Translation in Motion’ 2022 programme. Likaj was co-organiser of the Austrian Literature Reading Club 2018 and the German Literature Reading Club 2019 in Tirana. Since 2017, she has headed the Department of German Studies at the Faculty of Foreign Languages at the University of Tirana.
