Mariana Mangiulea Jatop

Mariana Mangiulea Jatop, born in Romania in 1960, studied Bulgarian and English Philology at the University of Bucharest, obtained her PhD in Slavic Philology in 1999, and taught as Associate Professor at the university’s Slavic Department until her retirement in 2022. She is the author of several books on Bulgarian linguistics and has been translating contemporary Bulgarian literature into Romanian since 2011. She lives in Bucharest and Lyon.
