Loreta Schillock was born in 1974 in Berat, Albania. She studied English language in Chigaco and was working as a teacher. Since 2001, she has been liveing near Stuttgart and works as a literary translator. Among others, she translated a work by Heinrich Heine to Albanian. In August 2012, the publishing house Edition Thanhäuser published a poetry book by the Albanian writer Arian Leka with a title Ein Buch Ein Meer [One Book, one Sea] in which several poems were translated to Gemran by Loreta Schillock. She also translated a text from Leka for the project “Literature-in-Flux” initiated by the European network HLAMA. Her translations were published in the European cultural magazine Lettre International. Her first translated novel was Onufri by Xhevair Lleshi, which she translated to German. She currently studies German language and Linguistics in Heidelberg and Stuttgart.
