Lilija Mrzlikar was born in Kyustendil, Bulgaria, in 1982 as Lilija Georgieva. She studied Slavic philology at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski. Now she is living in Novo mesto, Slovenia, and is working as a freelance translator. Lilija Mrzlikar is the author of a poetry book (Pozi i pochertsi, 2003) and has participated in a string of students’ translation projects. She has translated Goran Vojnović’s Yugoslavia, My Fatherland and Feri Lainšček’s Strah za metulje v nevihti into Bulgarian. Her latest translation of Goran Vojnović’s The Fig Tree will be published soon.
