Liliana Corobca was born in 1975 in Săseni-Călăraşi, Moldavia. She studied at the Faculty of Philology at the Moldavian State University in Chişinău, Moldavia. Between 1997 and 2001 she did her PhD in Literary Studies at the University of Bucharest. Since 2002 she works at the George-Călinescu-Institute for Literary History and Theory in Bucharest. Between 2004 and 2007 she taught Rumanian Exile Literature from 1945-1989 at the University of Ploieşti. At the same time she held seminars about Rumanian Literature at the University of Bucharest. Liliana Corobca is the author of several novels and theoretical books. For her debut novel she received the Prometheus Prize 2003/2004 awarded by the Moldavian Writers Association.
