Lavinia Braniște, born 1983 in Brăila, Romania, studied foreign languages at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca and literary translation at Bucharest University. In 2006, she published her first volume of poetry. 2016 saw the publication of her debut novel Null Komma Irgendwas (Interior zero), for which she received the Nepotul lui Thoreau Prize for the best novel of the year. The novel got published in German translation by mikrotext in time for the Leipzig Book Fair 2018. Lavinia Braniște lives and works in Bucharest.
