Katharina Winkler

Katharina Winkler, born in Vienna in 1979, studied German and Theatre Studies. Blauschmuck, published by Suhrkamp in 2016, is her widely-praised debut novel. The novel has been to date translated into six languages and has received several accolades, including the Basque Premio Euskadi de Plata for the best German-langue novel as well as the French Prix du premier roman étranger 2017. Winkler lives in Berlin.
