Jens Petersen, born in 1976 in Pinneberg, studied Medicine in Munich, Lima, New York, Florence and Buenos Aires. He has published numerous journalistic texts and stories in anthologies for children and young people. His first novel, published in 2005, Die Haushälterin [The Housekeeper] won several awards, including the “aspekte” Literature Prize and the Bavarian Art Promotion Prize. In 2009 he received the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize for an extract from the novel Bis dass der Tod [Till Death Do Us]. Jens Petersen lives and works in Zurich.
