Ivanka Apostolova Baskar, born in Skopje in 1973, is an art anthropologist and art historian. She studied and received her PhD in Ljubljana and is active as an author, translator, lecturer, project designer and project manager in the field of visual and performance arts. She currently teaches at the Faculty of Art and Design at the European University Skopje. She also directs the Macedonian Centre of the International Theatre Institute (ITI) and serves as regional editor of The Theater Times. At the 2016 Venice Architecture Biennale, she was commissioner of the Macedonian pavilion “No Man’s Land”. Ivanka Apostolova Baskar translates contemporary literature from the English, Slovene and other languages of the former Yugoslavia.
