Hansjörg Schertenleib
Hansjörg Schertenleib, born in 1957 in Zürich, after training as a typesetter/typographer, attended the School of Applied Arts in Zürich. In 1981 he moved to the Boswil House of Artists and became a freelance writer there. From 1980 to 1984 he was an Editor of the literary journey orte. Since 1985 he has worked as a journalist for various newspapers and magazines (including Stern, Die Welt, Die Zeit, Zeit-Magazin, NZZ ). He is also a member of the panel for the literary prizes of Christine-Lavant in Wolfsberg (Austria) and Frank O’Connor in Cork (Ireland), and a guest professor in America and England. Hansjörg Schertenleib has published radio plays, plays, poems and stories as well as novels, which have been translated into several languages. Following periods in Norway, Vienna and London, he has lived in County Donegal in Ireland since 1996.
