Giovanni Orelli, born in Bedretto in 1928, studied in Zurich and Milan and was a teacher in Lugano. Orelli was the cousin of fellow Ticino writer Giorgio Orelli. He published several stories, novels and volumes of poetry. Giovanni Orelli died in Lugano in 2016.
