Ferida Duraković

Ferida Duraković was born in 1957 in Olovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. She studied at the Faculty of Arts in Sarajevo and graduated in 1980. Her first book of poetry Bal po maskama was published already in 1977 and it earned her the Svjetlosti prize for best young writers. She wrote many more books of poetry as well as books for children and young readers. Her works have been translated to many languages and received various international awards, especially the poetry book Srce tame [Heart of Darkness] from 1994. Ferida Duraković lives and works in Sarajevo.
