Fabiano Alborghetti, born in Milano in 1970, lives and works in Tessin. Alborghetti first rose to prominence as a poet; he has published a string of poetry collections, including Verso Buda (ietocolle, 2004) and L’opposta riva – dieci anni dopo (La Vita Felice, 2013). For his verse novel Maiser (Marcos y Marcos) he received the Swiss Literature Prize 2018. He is a strong proponent of translating Italian-language authors from Switzerland into other languages. In addition, he launched different poetry projects in schooles, prisons, and hospitals.
