Edo Fičor, born in 1958 in Rijeka, studied Philosophy and Comparative Literature in Ljubljana and Zagreb. He has published literary translations since 1981. Among other authors, he has translated Lela B. Njatin, Sonja Porle, Jurij Hudolin, Tomaž Šalamun, Aleš Šteger, Feri Lainšček, Cvetka Hojnik, Lucija Stupica, Aleš Debeljak, Matjaž Kocbek, Pavel Čech and Frane Milčinski. He also worked on the anthology of Slovenian short stories (Krunski svjedoci, 2001) and an anthology of contemporary literature for children and young adults (Priče izrasle u tajne, 2006). In addition to his work as a literary translator, Edo Fičor is the editor of Slovenian children’s books and magazines.
