Cosmin Dragoste was born in 1978 in Craiova, Romania. He obtained his doctorate in German studies and teaches at the Institute for Modern Languages at the University of Craiova. Cosmin Dragoste is author of several scientific treatises and of one novel (Alois, 2008). He translates from German to Romanian and from Romanian to German. He received various prizes for his translations and books. He is a member of the Romanian Association of German Philologists and of the Paul Celan Excellency and Research Centre in Bucharest. Since 2019, he has been director of the Oscar Walter Cisek Research Centre for Romanian-German literature (in cooperation with the Institute for German Culture and History of Southeast Europe at the LMU Munich).
