Catherine Lovey, born in 1967 in Valais, is a French-speaking Swiss writer and journalist. Raised in a mountain farming family in the Valais Alps, she studied international relations in Geneva and criminology in Lausanne, and worked as an economic and financial journalist for publications including Tribune de Genève and L’Hebdo. Her debut novel, L’homme interdit, was published in 2005 and awarded the Swiss Schiller Foundation’s Prize for a Single Work. This was followed by four further novels, most recently histoire de l’homme qui ne voulait pas mourir (2024), for which she received the Swiss Literature Award in 2025.
