Bojana Denić
Bojana Denić studied German Philology at the University of Belgrade. The main focus of her translation work is translating German-language plays into Serbian. Among her published and performed translations are plays by Wolfram Lotz, Roland Schimmelpfennig, Dea Loher, Fritz Kater, Philipp Löhle, Luc Hübner, Lukas Bärfuss, Peter Handke, Peter Hacks, Wolfgang Bauer, Carl Zuckmayer, Ödön von Horvath, and Elfriede Jelinek. She also translates works of prose, for example by Thomas Pletzinger and Thomas Bernhard. Bojana Denić was awarded many grants, including those by the Goethe-Institut, Literarisches Colloquium Berlin, S. Fischer Stiftung, Robert Bosch Stiftung, and ITI-Germany. In 2011 she was a Translator in Residence at the European Translators’ College in Straelen. In 2009 she received an honour for her theatrical translations from the National Theatre Belgrade.
