Blaže Minevski, born in 1961 in Gevgelija, studied Journalism at the University of Skopje. He is one of the most well known Macedonian writers and has been a member of the Macedonian Writers’ Association since 1992. In addition to journalistic texts he has published novels, stories and plays. For the novel Нишан [Visor] he received the Stale Popov Prize of the Macedonian Writers’ Association for the best prose work, the “Novel of the Year” award of the newspaper Utrinski vesnik and the “13th November” Prize of the city of Skopje. Blaže Minevski is represented in all anthologies of Macedonian short stories, which have been published recently in English, French, Serbian, Bulgarian, Spanish, Turkish and Albanian.
