Asya Tihinova-Jovanović, born in Sofia, studied Slavic philology and worked for 25 years as a translator and editor for the Bulgarian editorial department of the radio station Radio Jugoslavija in Belgrade. At the same time, she worked as a journalist, translator and presenter for the Bulgarian television programme of RT Belgrade. She translates prose, theatre plays, films and television series from Serbian, Croatian and Bosnian into Bulgarian and vice versa. Her translations include works by Ivo Andrić, Miloš Crnjanski, Branislav Nušić, David Albahari, Milorad Pavić, Borislav Pekić, Vladimir Pištalo, Vida Ognjenović, Sanja Domazet, Momo Kapor, Mihajlo Pantić, Emir Kusturica, Uglješa Šajtinac, Ivana Sajko and Filip David.
