Agron Tufa, born in Diber, Albania, in 1967, studied Albanian philology at the University of Tirana and world literature at the Maxim Gorky
Literature Institute in Moscow. There he also studied at the Russian State University for the Humanities (RGGU), obtaining an MA in literary translation, with a special emphasis on the poetry of Joseph Brodsky. He is a poet, author, and translator from Russian and a professor for 20th Century Foreign Literature at the Philological Faculty at the University of Tirana. He also serves as the director of the Institute for the Study of Communist Crimes in Albania and publishes a literary journal.
