Kleiner Mann – was nun?

The novels tells a warm-hearted but dramatic story of the regular clerk Johannes Pinneberg and his pregnant wife Emma (Lämmchen). As Pinneberg loses his job as a bookkeeper, the young couple moves to Berlin. They believe in love but the happiness just won’t settle in during the times of world economic crisis of 1930s. Thus Emma takes the fortunes in her hand: she fights against the hardship for their gentle, idyllic happiness.
