Vlada Urošević, born in 1934 in Skopje, is one of Macedonia’s best-known authors and poets. He studied literature at Skopje University, where he received his doctorate in 1987. In 1982, he became a professor at the Institute for General and Comparative Literature. Vlada Urošević was the editor of the literary journal Razgledi and is a member of Académie Mallarmé in Paris, the European Academy of Poetry in Luxembourg and the Macedonian Academy of Science and Arts. An anthology of his works appeared in 2004. Vlada Urošević has been translated into Bulgarian, Serbian, Slovenian, Polish, French and Spanish. He has received numerous awards, including the Braća Miladinov Award (1967, 1973 and 1986) and the Grigor Prličev Award (1974 and 1989).
