Liudmila Mindova graduated in Slavic philology from St. Kliment Ohridski University in Sofia, receiving her Master’s degree in 1998 and her PhD in 2006. She is the author of several collections of poetry, a novel and two monographs on South Slavic literatures: The Voice of the Baroque. Ivan Gundulić and the Croatian Baroque Norm (2011) and The Other Ithaca. On the Literary Home (2016). Her literary translations include many books by Yugoslav and Post-Yugoslav writers, including works by Dubravka Ugrešić, Simo Mraović, Ivan Herceg, Danilo Kiš, Josip Osti, Aleš Debeljak, Tomaž Šalamun and many others. Mindova is currently associate professor at the Institute for Balkan Studies & Centre of Tracology (Bulgarian Academy of Sciences) and part-time lecturer at Sofia University. Her scientific research is in the field of Slavic and Balkan literatures, comparative studies and cultural semiotics.
