The melancholic hero of this novel is a loner who keeps a diary about his wanderings around Belgrade while recovering from a serious illness. Unburdened by stylistic and rhetorical devices, he describes and observes everyday scenes in the city during the winter months of 2004/2005, simultaneously sketching a topography of his own soul and painting a striking picture of his time.
