Ernst Strouhal, born in 1957, is an author and journalist as well as professor at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. He received the Austrian State Prize for Cultural Journalism in 2010 and has worked on exhibitions including Ein Lied der Vernunft (Jewish Museum of the City of Vienna 1996) and Spiele der Stadt (Vienna Museum 2011). His publications include Die Welt im Spiel. Atlas der spielbaren Landkarten (2015), Böse Briefe. Zur Geschichte des Drohens und Erpressens (with Christoph Winder, 2017) and Gespräch mit einem Esel. Vom Lesen mit dem Daumen (2019).
