In the thirteen short stories in this volume, Nenad Veličković tells a strongly autobiographical, or rather auto-ironic, story full of satirical humour about the life of a writer in the Balkans. He moves from author residency to author residency and festival to festival throughout Europe, produces commissioned works and is dependent on European cultural funds. According to the Bosnian cultural journal Liceulice, the author does not pull his punches and is full of criticism for a certain subset of writers for whom a richly filled buffet is more important than morality – which, according to Veličković, is only of interest if it comes cheap and at no personal cost.
