After an unsuccessful attempt to make it in Berlin, a young writer returns to his Croatian homeland. There he earns a living as a hotel receptionist but is mainly concerned with not ending up as the very cliché of an unsuccessful artist. Between lost illusions, increasing indifference and an older lover, he unexpectedly receives a message from his father, with whom he has never been close: The father is in the hospital and is expecting a fatal diagnosis. Is a rapprochement between the two possible when the father can neither understand nor accept his son?
