Кад су цветале тикве is the title of Dragoslav Mihailović‘s debut novel, published in 1968. This novel, which has since been published in more than twenty editions, has occupied an important place in Serbian literature and culture in the last decades of the 20th century. The novel provoked considerable negative reaction at the time of its publication. The play based on the novel was banned. Mihailović claims that Josip Broz Tito personally banned it.
