                            How does an upright man of books and literature become a reactionary, a revolutionary? Norbert Paulini is a highly respected antiquarian bookseller in Dresden. In his shop book lovers can find treasures and meet like-minded people. For over forty years, he experienced highs and lows. What can one do? Times change, customers disappear and there is competition from the internet. Paulini tries to maintain stoic. But suddenly we are confronted with a quick-tempered, unforgiving man who is accused of being involved in xenophobic riots. The story takes a drastic turn: is Paulini a tragic figure or a murderer?
