Zoran Smiljanić

Zoran Smiljanić, born in Postojna, Slovenia, in 1961, works among others as a comic author and illustrator. In the 1980s he also published his provocative comics under the pseudonym Vittorio de la Croce, including in the Slovenian magazine Mladina. Together with Marijan Pušavec, he is the author of the longest Slovenian comic, The Mexicans. The comic tells the story of the Slovenian volunteers who fought alongside Emperor Maximilian in Mexico between 1864 and 1867. Smiljanić lives and works in Kranj, Slovenia.
