Walter Mayr

Walter Mayr was born in 1960 in Aichach. He has been working for the weekly magazine Spiegel since over two decades, his focal topics are the Balkans and Eastern Europe. Walter Mayr was the head oft he Spiegel-office in Vienna and of its branch in Moscow. After the disbandment of the Warsaw pact and the outbreak of the Yugoslav wars, he has travelled many dozens times through Southeast Europe. He received the Henri Nannen Prize in 2005.
