Thomas Bremer

Thomas Bremer was born in 1957 in Essen. He studied Catholic theology, Slavic studies and classical philology in Munich, Münster and Belgrade. He did his PhD in theology in 1990. From 1995 to 1999, he was the director of the German Association for East European Studies in Berlin. Since 1999, he has been teaching Eastern Church and ecumenical studies at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Münster. From 2003 to 2005, Bremer was dean of the faculty. From March 2011 to February 2012, he was a fellow of the Imre Kertész College at the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena.
