                                                                            Sead Muhamedagić (1954-2021) studied German and South Slavic languages and literatures in Zagreb, and completed further education in German philology in Vienna. He worked as a freelance literary translator, publicist and poet in Zagreb, while he also worked as a lecturer at the teacher training college in Graz. He translated mainly modern Austrian literature (Schnitzler, Kraus, Hofmannsthal, Horváth, Bernhard, Kappacher, Handke, Turrini, Mitterer, Jelinek, Fian, Schwab, Hotschnig, Wogrolly etc.). In 2001, he received the Austrian State Prize for Literary Translation (in Klagenfurt) and in 2011 the Iso Velikanović Prize (in Zagreb).
