Patrick Wirbeleit

Patrick Wirbeleit, born in Lüneburg in 1971, is an author and illustrator of children’s books and comics. His works include the comics Kiste (illustrator: Uwe Heidschötter), Störtebeker and Kleiner Thor (illustrator: Kim Schmidt) as well as the picture book Wandelmonster Waldemar. He was awarded the ICOM Special Prize for Das Baumhaus in 2002. Patrick Wirbeleit initiated the Carl Book Prize, which has been awarded for the most beautifully illustrated children’s book cover in Germany since 2015.
