Nikollë Berishaj, born in Tuzi (now Montenegro) in 1958 , is a translator, writer, poet, and essayist. He translates from the Slovene and Croatian/Serbian/Bosnian/Montenegrin into the Albanian and vice versa. He has translated more than 60 books, including works by Ismail Kadare, Ridvan Dibra, Boris Pahor, Drago Jančar, Milan Dekleva, Jurij Hudolin, Balša Brković, Gabriela Babnik and Slavko Pregl. In 2013 he was the recipient of the Pretnar Prize and the honorary title of an Ambassador of Slovenian Language and Literature. Nikollë Berishaj is the author of a Slovene-Albanian/Albanian-Slovene dictionary, the novel Kush e vrau Besën and the poetry volume Sub rosa dictum. He lives and works in Tuzi.
