                                                                            Maruša Krese (1947-2013) was one of Slovenia’s most important literary voices. The poet, writer and journalist lived and worked abroad for many years and later returned to Ljubljana. In 1997, she received the Federal Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for her humanitarian commitment during the Bosnian war. In 2008, her short story collection Vsi moji božiči was awarded the Fabula literary prize. As an important companion of TRADUKI, Maruša Krese played a significant role in the Slovenian Book Agency (JAK) being the first Southeast European organisation to become a partner of the TRADUKI network in December 2009.
