Janja Vidmar

Janja Vidmar was born in 1962 in Ptuj, Slovenia. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana, but she broke her studies off. She later finished the study of Slovenian language and pedagogy in Maribor. Janja Vidmar is a freelance novel and script writer. Her works for children and young readers that often address topics of xenophobia, differentness, domestic violence, illness, eating disorders, conflict of generations, etc. have been translated into various languages and distinguished many times. She is a member of Slovene Writers’ Association.
