Genc Lafe

Genc Lafe was born in 1968 in Tirana. He studied Italian and Albanian languages and literatures at the University of Tirana and has earned his PhD in comparative linguistics from the University of Tübingen. He did his second PhD at the University of Florence. He has worked on research projects at the universities of Tübingen and Jena. Lafe currently teaches Albanian language at the University of Salento, Italy. His field of research focuses on Albanian studies, comparative and contrastive linguistics, historical linguistics, cognitive linguistics and translation science. He has translated Geschichte der Schweiz [The History of Switzerland] by the historian Thomas Maissen from German to Albanian.
