Florin Irimia, born in Iaşi in 1976, is a lecturer at the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iaşi. He writes and draws for various journals and magazines. In 2011, he published his debut novel Defect, which won him the prize for Best Debut at the Chambery Festival in France. As a translator, Irimia has translated Margaret Atwood, among others, into Romanian. His other publications include the novels O fereastră întunecată (2012) and Câteva lucruri despre tine (2014) as well as the short story collection Misterul mașinuțelor chinezești (2017).
