Felicitas Hoppe, born 1960 in Hamelin, lives as an author in Berlin. Her debut novel Picknick der Friseure was published in 1996, since then she has published countless novels and stories. For her writing Hoppe has been lauded repeatedly, receiving amongst others the Aspekte Prize, the City of Bremen Literature Prize, the Roswitha Prize of the city Bad Gandersheim, the Ratcatcher Literary Prize, the Georg Büchner Prize, and the Erich Kästner Prize for Literature. Furthermore she was a poetry lecturer and guest professor in Wiesbaden, Mainz, Augsburg, Göttingen, and Hamburg, as well as at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, and Georgetown University in Washington D.C.
