Davor Stojanovski was born in Skopje in 1987. He studied Macedonian literature, worked as a copywriter and proofreader and is now active as a writer, poet, playwright, translator and musician. Stojanovski was awarded the Anne Frank Prize in 2005 for his debut theatre play. In 2011, he was honoured with the Nova Makedonija newspaper’s short story prize and in 2016 with the Utrinski Vesnik newspaper’s literary prize, for which he had already been shortlisted in 2013. His works have appeared in numerous prose and poetry anthologies at home and abroad. Davor Stojanovski is a former member of the Macedonian alternative rock band ‘Foolish Green’, with whom he released the album ‘Escape’ in 2013.
