Ana Ristović was born in 1972 in Belgrade and studied comparative literature at the Faculty of Philology there. She published several volumes of poetry, for which she received important literary prizes, including the Branko Miljković Prize, the Milica Stojadinović Srpkinja Prize, the Hubert Burda Prize and the Disova Prize. Her poems have been translated to Slovak, Slovenian, German and Hungarian. Ana Ristović translates from Slovenian, among others works by Drago Jančar, Jani Virk, Aleš Čar, Aleš Šteger, Dušan Čater, Suzana Tratnik, Miha Mazzini, Uroš Zupan, Goran Vojnović and Aleš Debeljak. She lives in Belgrade and is a member of the Serbian Literary Association, the Serbian PEN Centre, Serbian Literary Translators’ Association and the Slovene Writers’ Association.
