Milena Marković

Milena Marković, born in 1974 in Belgrade, writes plays and screenplays, she is also known in Serbia as a lyric poet. She achieved her international break-through as a playwright with her play Šine [Tracks], which, since its original performance in 2002 has been staged at numerous theatres both at home and abroad and has received many prizes. Productions of her plays Brod za lutke [The Doll Ship] and Šuma blista [The Forest is Glowing] have enjoyed great success at international festivals. In addition to her writing she also teaches playwriting at a private college. Milena Marković lives in Belgrade.
