Kolyo Koev

Kolyo Koev, born in 1952 in Malak Dol, is Professor of Sociology at the New Bulgarian University in Sofia. From 1992 to 1998 he was a member of the International Advisory Board of the International Sociology journal. Since 1995 he has been Editor of the journal Sotsiologicheski Problemi [Sociological Problems]. His areas of work include: sociological methodology and theory, the history of sociology, the sociology of banality, the sociology of publicity, the sociology of knowledge. Kolyo Koev has published several scientific works and is editor of numerous sociological publications, some of which he has translated himself, including works of Max Weber, Alfred Schütz, Maurice Merleau-Ponty and Georg Simmel.
