Binak Ulaj, born in 1944 in the municipality of Plav (Montenegro), studied Albanian language and literature. From 1993 to 1996 he worked as an Albanian teacher at the  Xhevdet Doda grammar school in Pristhina and was Director of the school from 1996 to 2003. From 2004 to 2009 he was responsible for the work of the Office for Translation and Proofreading of the Ministry of Trade and Industry and from 1996-2000 was Deputy Chairman of the Committee for the Protection of Human Rights and Basic Freedoms in Prishtina. Binak Ulaj translations included the novel Predator from Serbian into Albanian.
