1992 im belagerten Sarajevo geboren, studierte Selma Asotić zunächst in ihrer Heimatstadt Komparatistik und machte später ihren Master in Boston/MA. In Sarajevo gab sie 2017 bis 2021 die feministische Theorie- und Kunstzeitschrift BONA heraus. Sag Feuer ist ihr preisgekröntes Debüt. Selma Asotić lebt in den USA.
