This novel is a father-son story. The father is an 80-year-old retired oboist. He lives with his son on the eleventh floor of an apartment block in Sarajevo. The two, father and son, watch a Turkish soap opera over afternoon coffee. The story of the two and the story of Feriha’s suffering intertwine. A novel about the collapse of the Yugoslav state, about the war, and the things that came in its wake.
